We collect information you provide directly — such as your name, contact details, property and payment information — and information generated as you use Rentsoft. For tenant screening, we collect the data needed to request a report from TransUnion with your consent.
We use your information to operate the platform, process applications and payments, generate screening reports, communicate with you, prevent fraud, and improve our services. We do not sell your personal information.
Screening reports are obtained from TransUnion and handled in accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Applicants consent before a report is run, and managers may only access reports for permissible purposes related to a rental decision.
We share information with service providers who help us run Rentsoft (such as payment and screening partners), with the property manager or renter involved in a transaction, and when required by law. Each party only receives the data relevant to its role.
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations, then delete or de-identify it. We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your data, though no system is completely secure.
You can access, update, or request deletion of your information from your account settings or by contacting us. Renters control which managers can view a screening report and may revoke access at any time.
